As part of the Missouri Department of Transportation's Minor Roads Initiative, MoDOT has completed about one-third of more than 350 miles of lettered and numbered roads scheduled for improvement in this district, according to Beth Wright, district engineer for MoDOT.

Missouri Department of Conservation staff will use a chemical treatment in an attempt to destroy zebra mussels recently found in the waters of Camp Branch Marina on Smithville Lake. The treatment is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 10.
