Fort Bend County Braces for Impact as Hurricane Beryl Hits Land

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – Counties in southeast Texas are experiencing the full impact of Hurricane Beryl, which started moving through the area early Monday morning, around 4 a.m.

Right now, the Category 1 hurricane is bringing strong winds of 80 miles per hour. KPRC 2 Meteorologist Caroline Brown says that even though Beryl has hit the land, it doesn’t mean the storm is over. In fact, this is just the beginning.

In Fort Bend County, the situation on the streets is very serious. The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for the county, which will be in effect until 10 a.m. on Monday. There is also a Flood Warning until 9 a.m. due to the continuous heavy rain.
